7 Best Online Shopping Websites

posted: April 20, 2010

The internet has changed the way we live our lives providing useful and relevant information at the click of a mouse. Online shopping has exploded in use, but there are also more sites to patronize than one can imagine, many of which are not worth the time or hassle.

Amazon.com

Once marketed as a bookseller, Amazon has put its growing pains behind itself and has expanded to sell many different items. Yes, you can still find great buys on books but there are so many other departments to consider including business supplies, technology, software, telecommunications, automotive....

eBay.com

Your local garage sale has morphed into an online used goods sale thanks to eBay. Power sellers may not be happy with all of the changes implemented over the past few years, but buyers have the confidence of knowing that what you are selling is worth it to them.

Etsy.com

If you're a connoisseur of handmade or vintage goods, then Etsy is where you want to be. Described by some as a cross between eBay and Amazon, Etsy has taken the DIY crafts world by storm.

Woot.com

A special a day, keeps the doctor away.... Well, that doesn't make sense, but Woot does offer what a lot of online shoppers want: an honest to goodness daily deal. Last week, I checked out the site and found a Gateway netbook listed for just $259. Sure, it is an older and refurbished model, but the savings are still decent and they come equipped with Windows 7 installed.

ThinkGeek.com

If Woot is too limited in their specials for you, then ThinkGeek may have what you want. Gadgets, toys, electronics, computer stuff and more. No, I still haven't figured out what all the excitement is about when it comes to bucky balls!

FatWallet.com

Sometimes the savings can be had through couponing, an age old way of saving money on the products you know and love. Fat Wallet helps you save a few bucks on the things you need for business, money that can reduce your cost.

Craigslist.org

There is nothing like Craigslist even though Oodle and Kijiji try to close the gap. Best known for its online personals, Craigslist is also a very good place to find garage, yard and other sales in your area. Kind of like how newspapers used to be, but with much more flexibility.

The 7 sites we featured here are certainly worth exploring. However, we also invite you to check out nBuy Shopping Plaza, your discount headquarters for school supplies, home and garden, computing, kids stuff and more!

There are other sites online that compare favorably with those mentioned. Always shop a secured site and familiarize yourself with how they work, their shipping and tax policies, as well as how they handle returns and product guarantees.
